Tidings privacy policy
Tidings is made by Robert Reagan. This page explains what the Tidings iPhone app does with your information.
Your cards and addresses stay with you
Photos of your cards, the names and addresses read from them, and your card list are stored on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We don't have a copy and can't see them.
Reading happens on your phone
Tidings uses Apple's on-device AI to read cards. Card photos are not sent to us or to any other AI service.
No accounts
Tidings doesn't ask you to create an account or sign in.
Crash diagnostics
Sharing error diagnostics is off unless you turn it on (in Tidings, Settings, then Diagnostics, then Share error diagnostics). If you turn it on and the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a short report to a server we run so we can fix the problem. A report says what kind of failure happened, plus your iOS version and the app version. It never includes card photos, message text, contacts, or names or addresses read from your cards. We delete reports from our server after 30 days.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
Sending your own cards
If you choose to export your address list or tap a link to a card shop such as Minted or Zazzle, you decide where that information goes, and that shop's own privacy policy applies. Some of these links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy.
